Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1920s.
I think it's a great advantage that the background is cream, because it allows this piece to fit in with most room settings. Apparently this desk was bought in the Olympia Fair about 10 years ago. The leather writing surface is in three sections & it looks to me to be original, with some old markings within. The decoration speaks for itself & is all over the front, sides, backs & even on the plinths. The handles are original & there is a double filing drawer on the bottom right hand side. There are various old markings & some wear in various places, but nothing untoward & they only add to the overall character of this desk, which I would date to around the 1920's period. There is also a makers name on the drawers. This desk is quite heavy & doesn't come apart, so please make sure it will fit through any doors, etc. Please enlarge all the images, because there is a lot to look at.
