Good George III Well-fitted Writing Box

Description

A very superior 18th century George III period brass-bound WRITING BOX with many extras.

The box itself is of solid mahogany, brass bound with recessed military handles. It opens to reveal the original baize lining with twin inkwells and lidded compartments etc. Below the pen tray is the pair of original gilt candle sconces & drip pans (a rare feature) and a fine original makers label. To the base is a long drawer and two (very!) secret drawers that are hard to find.

A great box, complete with all its original keys. 20ins wide; 10ins deep; 7ins high. (51x25.5x18cms)
