Burr Walnut Fitted Ladys Dressing Case

Description

A good quality mid-19th century fitted walnut LADY'S DRESSING CASE.

The box itself is of beautifully figured burr walnut, and inlaid with a mother-of-pearl cartouche dated 1866. This lid opens to reveal the fully fitted interior with 12 silver-topped bottles and jars, and a tray of tools and implements.

There is a removable mirror within the lid; a fitted velvet-lined jewellery drawer to the base and a further spring-loaded side drawer. Hallmarked London 1863. 12ins wide; 9ins deep; 7ins high. (30.5x23x18cms)
