Status:This item has been sold Sold by:The Silver Cabinet
A very attractive example of a solid sterling silver wine taster or quaich.
Hallmarked on the base for London 1935, with the maker''s mark of P G Dodd & Son and carrying the narrative ''DODD CORNHILL LONDON''. It also features the highly collectable Jubilee Mark. The hallmarks are very crisp.
The base is slightly concave, as one would expect from a wine taster, the better to see the colour/clarity of the liquid. The handles on either side have a form of Celtic design, featuring a pair of birds. The silver is in excellent condition - just a few light surface abrasions as would be expected.
