Edwardian Solid Silver Potpourri Box 1911

1900 - 1920
Description

A lovely SOLID SILVER POT POURRI BOX in an oval form with a pierced hinged lid in a design depicting a cherub (presumably Cupid) shooting an arrow from his bow, amongst a background of leaves, flowers and grapes. Apart from the lid the box is undecorated except for the hallmark to the back and it is gold-washed to the inside with attractive effect and made from heavy gauge silver. This fabulous Edwardian piece, made by Samuel Jacobs in 1911, could easily be used as a ring or trinket box or added to anyone's collection.
