An extremely substantial carriage clock with soft gong strike on the hour and half hour which runs for a week per wind,
Circa 1900. This carriage clock has been fully restored. The case has been fully dismantled, cleaned and lacquered. The movement has benefited from a complete overhaul which included the escapement. The clock was retailed by Lawson and Son of Brighton. Lawson and Son are listed in the Watch and Clockmakers of the World Vol 2 as working from 1870. This clock with it''s angular, ''deco'' style looks very turn of the century. It is worth noting that this size of carriage clock is extremely rare now and this one is very reasonably priced! The clock has bevelled glass to all sides and is sold with a full 12 month guarantee
