A German sculptor, Alois Mayer was born in 1855 (d. 1939) and these bronzes date from the late 19th Century.
The socles have some very small nibbles to the bottom edge but otherwise are in sound and fine condition. Both figures In excellent original condition with a most attractive colour and patination to the bronze. Extremely life like and finely cast.

14 inches high and 5 inches wide max.
