A charming Japanese Meiji period gold lacquer kogo with nashi ground interior & base beautifully decorated with a landscape scene on a shapely black lacquer cartouche on the cover. This splendid box & cover has very minor wear to the lacquer otherwise the condition is excellent with no chips or cracks; it stands 2 inches tall.
