The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The signed movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is some beautiful engraving… “Presented to Mr D M Davies, By the Staff & Workmen of NF Factory No 18, Pembrey, 30th Jan 1920”, this possibly relates to the munitions factories which were on the site.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and is the Moon model by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The Moon model was a good quality 10ct gold plated case originally guaranteed to wear for 20 years. Aaron Lufkin Dennison pioneered watchmaking in America before moving to England in 1862 to set up a watch case factory in the Handsworth area of Birmingham. The case has Mr Davies’ initials in a beautifully ornate design.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.
The white enamel dial is in lovely condition, with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a double chain.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
