A Superb George I Britannia Standard Silver Serving Spoon.

A superb and rare example of a silver rat-tail tablespoon in the Hanoverian pattern, dating from the reign of George I. The spoon is bottom marked (hallmarks above the reverse of the bowl) and has engraved marriage initials to the reverse top of the shank. The spoon has the advantage of being Britannia standard silver and bears an interesting additional hallmark - P in a square cartouche. A wonderful early collector's piece.

Condition :- Excellent, with no holes or splits.The bowl has two small bumps, commensurate with age and use.
