Victorian Solid Silver Card Case 1861 - Frederick Marson

This stunning SOLID SILVER CARD CASE was made by the well-known and sought after silversmith Frederick Marson in 1861.

Of oblong form with classic indented and shaped sides, this beautiful Card Case has an all over chased and engraved floral and ribbon decoration. The front of the case has a blank shaped ovoid cartouche which could be used to personalise this exceptional piece and the case is of a size that can still be used today with modern business cards or to hold credit cards.

The lid closes tightly, the hinge is in good condition and there are very few signs of use or wear despite this being over 155 years old.

A quality antique made by a master craftsman which would make a superb gift or would enhance any collection.
