A Gents Silver Longines Wrist Watch, 1928

A gents silver Longines wrist watch.

The watch has a fully signed calibre 13.34 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The Longines 13.34 was first introduced in 1910. The movement is stamped with the letters B & Co, this was the mark of Baume & Co, the Longines agent in the UK for many years.

The watch itself measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the articulated lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London (import mark), 1928, with an importer’s mark of AB for Alfred Baume of Baume & Co. The case is a Borgel style case, an early attempt at making a waterproof case… although, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water.

The watch glass has some marking but it is acceptable.

The white enamel dial is in good condition. The fleur de lys hands are not original to the watch but they do look very handsome.

The watch has a later leather strap.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
