19th.c. Walnut Breakfast Centre Table by Gillow & Co C.1880

Description

Very smart late 19th.c. walnut breakfast or centre table by the celebrated English makers Gillow & Co. of Lancaster c.1880. Circular 42" diameter top with particularly well figured walnut veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern on solid walnut groundwork. With a thumb moulded edge and crossbanded apron. Raised on a crisply turned, fluted and carved pedestal with matching supporting columns. On tripod legs with carved detail and original brass castors. Clearly stamped Gillow & Co. together with the serial number 13906. Some old wear to the top but generally excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Note the top is removable (with four later bolts) for ease of delivery.
