~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~
A beautiful original Antique French Rococo clock in gilded bronze. The case is of classic Rococo design, waisted, keyhole shape with acanthus leaf shoulders, 'C' scroll feet standing on a serpentine base and surmounted by a charming figure of a cherub marking the passage of time with a sundial. The front of the the clock has velvet lined fretted panel.

The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip to hear the bell and watch the clock running.

E Portelance is listed in Tardy, Dictionnaire des Horlogers as working from Rue de Naples in 1870.
Condition of the case is excellent, beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition just some tiny nibbles around the winding holes. We have replaced the fabric.

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
