This delicate late Victorian design is loosely derived from late 17th century models and follows the mid-19th century fashion for black-japanned and gilt-decorated papier-mâché work. Good condition. Frame solid and sturdy. Upholstery fair condition, newly recovered in a good quality faux suede. Because it is quite low, it would make a wonderful dressing table chair.
