An Antique Criterion Half Hunter Pocket Watch

An antique Criterion half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Criterion, and it is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. There is a little unevenness in places and some minor surface marks but overall the condition is good for an early 20th Century piece.

The front cover has a small lens surrounded by Roman numerals with enamel infill. The front cover is opened by pressing the winding crown in.

Inside there is an acrylic lens. It is very common for the original glass lenses to be replaced and we see this often… it is difficult to tell the difference as they look so similar but they are a lot more durable.

The white enamel dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
