A fine quality Japanese lacquer tray from the Meiji period simulating tortoiseshell it stands on four typically Japanese feet and is beautifully decorated with birds flying amongst foliage. This splendid lacquer tray has had a little restoration to one foot but this does not detract from its beauty; the tray measures 13 inches across.
