Description

Rare and beautiful - an incredibly fine work of nomadic weaving incorporating lustrous wool with silk highlights and incredible brocade! I guess this special pillow-bag (balisht) was made for a tribal chief and given to the very best weaver in the tribe to make for him. Regularly and wrongly assigned to 'Baluch' tribes, I'm convinced this was Timuri work from western Afghanistan and made circa 1880.
