In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It is an example of early campaign style furniture, when craftsmen were experimenting with making furniture more portable while still conforming to traditional styles.
The chest is inlaid with moulded edges and is set on elegant bracket feet and has the original round brass ring pull handles.
The whole piece is excellent quality and very well made with a lovely rich patina. The drawers run well and it a clean sturdy piece of furniture. There are minor signs of age and use and some light marks and surface scratches around the chest and a small watermark on the top but nothing to concern us and they display beautifully.
