In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The simple design and splayed legs identify it as a press table as this helped distrubute the weight from the heavy press and make the table more sturdy and less likely to tip over.
It is in good condition throughout. There are some minor signs of use and age and a small repair to a chip at the back of the table but overall is a very clean and sturdy piece of furniture. It has a charming look and it has been given a smooth waxed finish and is ready for the home.
