Description

Charming silver hunting horn ornament of tapered form with flared rim, ribbed and stepped mouthpiece and decorative reeded bands to the middle section. It has a suspension hoop on a chain attached to the middle, possibly later applied, and the horn balances perfectly level from it. The body of the horn and mouthpiece are hallmarked for Chester 1928, maker E Baker & Son. The chain is not marked.

It measures 11 7/8" long and 1 3/8" wide at the end and weighs 49g/1.6ozt. Condition is very good with no damage and light surface wear. It bows ever so slightly. The hallmarks are slightly rubbed at the edges but fully legible.
