Gorgeous Georgian Oak Dresser with Delft Rack C1780

Description

This is a gorgeous george 111 oak dresser with georgian delft rack and both dating from around 1780. Constructed from solid oak the dresser base has a moulded edge to the top with one long centre drawer and a smaller drawer on either side all of which are pine lined and with later brass handles and each drawer have a reeded edge. It stands on lovely sillouette shaped legs.

The georgian delft rack of the same period (1780) is not original to the dresser base but it would take an expert to know and they are very well matched. The delft rack has a moulded cornice with deep frieze and with reeded tambor side supports. It has a high top shelf for meat plates with moulded plate guard rails and two further shelves again with guard rails. To the centre there are two bow fronted shelves .

Both pieces making for a gorgeous dresser with lovely dark mellow colour to the oak and with original patination. In very good condition each piece measures;

The base: 26.5" high X 20" deep X 56" wide

The delft rack; 45" high X 6" deep X shelf depth 4" X 57" wide to cornice.
