Fully Fitted Coromandel Sewing Box

Description

A good mid-19th century fitted SEWING BOX in excellent original condition.

The box itself is of finely-figured coromandel-wood with slender line inlay and mother-of-pearl vacant cartouche and escutcheon. It opens to reveal the beautifully fitted interior with full set of six mother-of-pearl cotton reels; silver-top scent bottle; tray of tools with mother-of-pearl handles; pair of silver thimbles; MOP winders and various other items and equipment.

A pretty and well-appointed sewing box. 11ins wide; 8ins deep; 4.5ins high.
