The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The watch has a stem-winding 17 jewel movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed American, Waltham, Watch Co. Riverside and it has the serial number 6031568 which dates it back to around 1898.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. The micro regulator has been replaced at some stage and the watch has a standard Waltham regulator.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was originally guaranteed to wear for 20 years. The case has light surface marks from use and the odd small "ding" to the back but overall it is in nice condition for a 1890s piece.

The winding crown pushes down to open the front cover. It reveals a white enamel dial with a plastic lens which is in good condition. The dial has a few faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The watch will come in a new presentation box.
