Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The handles of the urns are particularly lovely, having a distinctive design that enhances the flowing lines. The urns stand well on their lobed bases, The condition of the pair is very good, there has been some slight change in shape due to the elements and use over the years, this is to be expected, lead being a soft and malleable metal. These slight irregularities really add to the charm and character of these spectacular urns. The colour and patina are superb. This pair would make a stunning feature either placed in the garden or indoors.
