A charming Japanese Meiji period ivory one piece okimono depicting a beautiful young woman leading a boy carrying his pet dog, the woman carries rope attached to a wood frame possibly for collecting water from a well. This splendid okimono is carved with decoration on the figures clothing and is signed on the underside, it has a minor age related split on the back otherwise it is in excellent condition standing 7 ¼ inches tall.
