Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A loo table is a type of table originally designed in the 18th and 19th centuries for playing the card game named Loo. These tables were typically oval or round, frequently featuring a tilt-top mechanism and a central pedestal base to accommodate seated players.

Late Victorian centre tables frequently incorporated light and dark contrast hardwoods such as satin birch, mahogany, walnut, and rosewood. Decorative techniques included ebonised wood stringing, satinwood banding, and marquetry inlays applied to timber frames.

Authentic 19th-century centre tables exhibit historical joinery, such as hand-cut veneers, original brass or ceramic castors, and aged secondary woods beneath the tabletop. Unfinished undersides typically display natural oxidisation and minor wear consistent with period usage.

A satin birch centre table can serve as an entryway focal point in a spacious hall or as an occasional dining table in an open-plan room. Combining light wood tones with neutral walls and minimalist accessories balances traditional woodwork with modern aesthetics.

Maintain satin birch furniture by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year along the wood grain. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and clean liquid spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth.
