Arcadia Pocket Watch, Fleurier Watch Company

An Arcadia pocket watch from the Fleurier Watch Company.

The Fleurier Watch Company was founded in 1858 by Jules-Samuel Jéquier and the company supplied movements to several watch brands. The company went on to produce complete watches and the Arcadia line was launched, becoming one of the earliest companies to sell its watches around the world, including successful export to China and South America.

This particular watch has a 17-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Fleurier name.

The watch itself measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is in good condition for its age and the screw-on bezel and back are nice signs of quality.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed white enamel dial has a handsome appearance with blued steel hands, outer minute markers with red numbers and a subsidiary seconds dial. There is a little damage between 10 and 11, and a short hairline between 5 and 6.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
