A fine French ''Boulle'' mantel clock of good size and proportions by Howell and James of Regent street and retailer to the Queen ( Queen Victoria ) The twelve section cartouche dial showing Roman numerals and with the makers / retailers name on the 9 and 3 in very small black lettering , polished blued steel Hands and a Cast brass decorative bezel surround . The case is typical of Boulle work ,after Andre-Charles Boulle and has a good level of detail with the sides also being fully decorated , standing on ''C'' scroll bracket feet a glazed aperture to view the sun-burst pendulum with a finial to finish . Made in Paris around 1880-90 Stamped and numbered.
