A ''belly door'' flame mahogany , longcase clock with full columns to the trunk and a ''Swan neck'' hood with full columns either side of the arched and glazed door . A good example of Scottish clock making in the early Victorian period. . The well painted dial has a lady to the arch being protected by the Scotsman''s ''Plaid'' (a type of thick tartan blanket ). The corner paintings are of well known Scotsmen , Robert Burns ,Alexander Ramsay , James Ferguson and Sir Walter Scott . The movement is of good quality and strikes the Hour on a bell and runs for a week on a single wind .
