Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The model number on the inside of the case is 401 and of course it is fully hallmarked.

The dial has been fully restored so is in mint condition and the Flagship emblem on the back of the case is bright and crisp.
The case measures 34mm in diameter without the crown.
It also comes with original box which is a rare one in itself.

We had to contact the Longines museum directly to find information regarding this watch as our research found nothing, they kindly investigated for us and below is a copy of the email they sent:
Dear Mr Lynn Wilson,

Thank you for your message and the information provided.
Further to your request, we are pleased to provide the information contained in Longines' handwritten registers.
The original serial number 10'460'068 identifies a wristwatch in 18ct rose gold bearing the reference 401, part of the Flagship collection. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, caliber 30L and was invoiced on 23 April 1958 to the company Ostersetzer, which was at that time our agent for Italy.

We trust that we have responded satisfactorily to your request and remain at your entire disposal for any additional information.
Best regards,
Jennifer Bochud

It comes complete with a new premium quality black leather strap.
This is simply one of the rarest Longines 30L vintage watches you will come across and a must for any Longines collector.

It has been professionally serviced and overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.

The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.

Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
