Rare Large Solid Silver Pot Pourri Box - William Comyns 1904

A wonderful quality rare and unusual LARGE POTPOURRI BOX made from English sterling silver by the renowned London silversmith, William Comyns in 1904.

The base of the box has an embossed or repousse Art Nouveau inspired garland running around its circumference. The top has a superbly pierced or reticulated design of a wedding scene with a coach and horses and matching bells on either side.

The interior of the box has a light gilt coating. The lid fits well and the 5 bar hinge is in very good condition. The box is in excellent condition with virtually no wear visible.

This is a high quality rare item made from good gauge silver and would make a superb addition to anyone's collection or a really special gift for someone.
