Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the 1850s.
This piece is not stamped but we are confident of its pedigree. The pair of flaps can be raised and held in place with shaped loppers. To the front, a single drawer sits over a pull-out sewing bag. The drawer contains a pull-out writing slope, with a retractable pen and ink tray (a Gillows feature). The writing slope is fitted with its original Moroccan leather. The table stands on characteristic (Gillows) legs in solid rosewood which are united by an under-stretcher. This table is of the finest quality. It is now offered for sale in excellent original condition with a marvellous mellow colour and patina.
