Description

View of a village in the snow by the Dutch artist Louis van der Pol (1896 - 1982. The oil on wooden panel is mounted in an attractive frame. The painting dates from around 1940 and is signed.

Louis van der Pol was born in the Hague in 1896 and died in Abcoude in 1982. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague and then from 1930 he spent most of his time in Paris. He painted with a loose impressionist style and has achieved good prices at auction.
