M Lees and Sons has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
. The tiers with a moulded edge and of dished form , separated by a turned base stem . Raised upon a tripod base with carved leaf detail to the 'knees' , reeded detail to the down-swept legs terminating in a claw-footed patinated brass castor.

An excellent grade of timber with its original surface and polish which has achieved a rich patina.
This dining-room 'dumb-waiter' with its reed enrichments, vase-turned pillar, and voluted Grecian-reeded leg and claw castor , corresponds to a design dated 1830 in the "Estimate Sketch Book" (no. 3962) of Gillow of London and Lancaster executed for a Mr.Bastard.
