Description

A fine quality London Georgian stick ships barometer on a gimball. Signed to the brass top plate 'J Cetti, 25 Red Lion St, Holborn, London'. A slim mahogany case with well engraved silvered dials with hinged thermometer door to open/close. A slide pressure indicator. The barometer can also be mounted via the loop at the top rather than the gimball.

The Cetti family of instrument makers are well noted. In Goodison's 'English Barometers' book Joseph Cetti is recorded as working at 25, Red Lion Street in London from 1815-1839.
