Hingstons of Wilton has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Here we have this fine military chest with a secretaire drawer.

This particular chest would have been made for an officer for campaign. The top section has a secetaire in the middle drawer and flanked on each side by box drawers and a drawer under
The bottom section of this campaign chest is fitted 2 drawers and stands on turned feet.

The chest is fitted with the very desirable flush brass handles and inset corners.
The secretaire drawer has a fall front that operates by pressing a button release to each side of the drawer.
The interior with a shield that was made to keep the small interior drawers in place during transit. These quite often have been lost in time but it is nice still for it still to be with this lovely interesting piece of historic furniture.
