Large Pair of Antique Swedish Satin Birch Armchairs

19th century
Description

Large & very comfortable pair of antique Swedish upholstered armchairs in excellent condition & dating from around the 1890-1910 period. They have satin birch frames, lightly carved in places with ball & claw feet. The string carving around the base extends all the way around including the backs of the chairs too. Since being brought over from Sweden, the frames have been French polished & they have been completely re-upholstered. They are top quality & fully sprung with hand coiled springs, so they will last a lifetime, not like the modern upholstery today.
