19th Century Continental Silver & Malachite Snuff Box

From a private American collection.
A splendid continental silver snuff box, rear hinged with thumb tacks at the front to open it is chased with scrolling acanthus leaf decoration on the silver and chamfered at the front and back, inlaid with three separate bands of malachite on the lid. This charming box has a git interior and tests as silver but is unmarked, it is in excellent condition and weighs 2 ¾ Oz.
