Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The rounded lid hinged and opening with a bayonet and screw closure. The glass body encased in a leather upper, the lower section with a removable drinking cup. The overall shape an oval, and slightly curved to fit snuggly in ones pocket.
Hallmarked for Marples & Beasley, Chester 1905
Height 6 1/4 inches, width 2 3/4 inches, depth 1 1/2 inches.
