Pair Russian Silver Swan Salt Servers – Moscow 1889

From a private American collection.
A fabulous pair of Russian silver salt servers both fully hallmarked on the underside dated 1889 with the Moscow city mark and the makers mark A.A, each salt has an oval base with decorative border on top of which left & right facing swans sit. The swans hold a scrolling scallop shell bowl with gilt interior on top of which a bird perches, peering down. These superb salts are very well crafted and in excellent condition with no damage, each measure 5 inches tall, 3 ¾ inches across, 3 inches deep and the combined weight of the pair is 392g or 14 Oz.
