Description

An English double fusee mantel/bracket clock. A mahogany case with thick bevelled glass panels to the top and sides. Chamfered side mouldings and a shaped plinth standing on bun feet. A cast brass bezel with bevelled glass to the painted dial with blued steel hands. A twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell of 8-day duration.

The dial is signed 'F Waldek, London'. This style of the clock is often referred to as a 'four glass' or 'library' clock though library clocks are single fusee. Circa 1840.
