Late 18th C Inlaid Fire Bellows

Description

A Pair of Late 18th Century Chestnut, Brass and Leather Bellows.

The boards with shaped and arched handles, above the rounded heart shaped boards. The top board inlaid with chequered stringing, surrounding an oval inlay of a cowrie shell, with hanging leaves to either side. The boards tapering to a leather covered nose, and thence the tapering nozzle. The leather concertina sides with brass studding.

Date c 1790.
