Pair Antique Victorian Oak Gothic Chairs

Description

A very decorative pair of antique Victorian Gothic chairs in solid oak dating from circa 1880. They have elaborately carved backs with central upholstered panel and bobbin turned uprights with turned finials. The front and back legs are bobbin turned with carved details. The stuff-over seat and back panels have been newly reupholstered. Good colour and patina to the oak. One chair has a split to the upright (see photo).

Construction/Wood:

Oak

Condition Report:

Wear and marks commensurate with age. One chair has a split to the upright near the seat rail (see photo)- this has been glued at some point but is delicate and wouldn’t withstand heavy use, (or someone leaning back on it) the other chair is fine.
