Fabulous Large Antique Vienna Bronze Bowl - Birds - Wrens C.1880

Description

A fabulous impressive large bronze, a very solid and heavy piece. The bowl is fashioned to resemble a basket with some cold painted highlights in places.

On the side are the two most adorable cold painted birds (Wrens), beautifully cast and with great detail. The underside of the birds are where the marks are, it is extremely hard to make out if there is a makers mark but I can see "Depose" / "Geschutzt" (Registered Design in French and German) with the number of this model.

A superb piece in excellent antique condition dating to around 1880. 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" tall.
