A Stunning Quality Burr Walnut & Marquetry Victorian Period Antique "Pop Up" Davenport.

Description

A stunning quality burr walnut & marquetry Victorian Period antique "pop up" davenport. With a secret "pop up" stationery section which is released via a secret button. The stationery compartment has a pierced fretwork front in boxwood and has three boxwood lined drawers, above the serpentine piano front, with fine boxwood marquetry inlay and opening to reveal a fitted writing surface with a green leather inset and two marquetry inlaid internal drawers. The front, sides and reverse have shaped panels veneered in beautiful figured burr walnut and marquetry inlaid detail. The right end with a cupboard door opening to reveal four mahogany lined drawers, the whole supported on a shaped burr walnut plinth with inset brass and porcelain castors. English circa 1870-1880
