An Early 20th Century Open Faced Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

An early 20th Century open faced pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, with 17 jewels, which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner dust cover which has some scratches.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the loop. The case is gold-filled and was made by the American Watch Case Company, based in Canada. The case has some surface marks and a little unevenness.

The watch glass is in good order with just a few minor marks.

The watch has a white enamel dial with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There is a hairline crack around number 4 and, if viewed through a jeweller’s loupe, there is a very faint hairline crack running across the dial.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
