William IV Mahogany Whatnot

Description

A William IV Mahogany Four Tier Whatnot.

The pylon shaped body with butter press finials, above the gentle outward spreading columns, each column with a tulip top tapering outward and downward to ring collars, and thence tapering inward to ring socles. The columns supporting four tiers, with slightly raised bead edges. The bottom tier housing a frieze drawer, with moulded edge, mahogany linings and a pair of brass ring handles. The whole standing on turned and tapered legs, finished with brass cup castors.

Date c 1830.
