Rare Antique English Sterling Silver Fish Set - Harrods - 1912

Description

This is a rare find, something I haven't come across before; I firstly wandered if this set was for Caviar, but the sterling silver would react with Caviar, so I am stumped at what these were used for.

They come complete in their original presentation box, made from Sterling Silver they have wonderful figural fish handles, all made from a good gauge of silver.

To make these even more collectible is the maker J B for Sir John Burbridge, also the managing director of the famous Knightsbridge luxury retailer, Harrods; these are possibly unique made by Harrods especially for a client.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1912, so a true antique set from this eminent store. Excellent condition, the box measures 8" x 3 1/2" x 1"; the spoon measures 6 1/2" and the fork, 6 1/4".
