Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The top section slides forwards so one can put their knees under the writing surface. This is a very important feature & we will try to photograph & add it on soon. The pen tray on the side is also not showing open & there is also a secret drawer somewhere. This Davenport has a pierced brass gallery, a tooled leather writing surface, 2 pull out slides either side, brass handles inside & out, original locks on all the drawers & it sits on strong flat bun feet with concealed casters underneath. It also has a nice interior under the flap & is panelled front & back.
